Lucine B. Horak, age 95, of Aurora, CO died peacefully in her home on Friday, January 11, 2019 from natural causes. Lucine was born in St. Peter, Kansas in 1923 to Barbara and Michael Billinger (both deceased).

She was raised on the family farm until the outbreak of World War II when she moved to Denver and worked for several years at Gates Rubber Company making vital products for the war effort. Later, she worked for many years as a dental technician at the Orthodontic practice of Humphrey, Siersma and Jackson constructing impressions, models and braces until her retirement in 1976. Lucine was very active for most of her adult life in stamp and coin collecting and had an extensive collection of air mail stamps which won several awards.

While working at Gates Rubber Company, Lucine married her first husband Philip E. Huffhines who was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge in 1945. She was married for 57 years to Stanley R. Horak who died in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Peitersen (Donald) who lives in Aurora, CO. She is preceded in death by daughter Barbara Maness (Jerry) who died in 2014.

Lucine is preceded in death by her siblings Bridget Mann (Ike), Adolph Billinger (Margaret), Peter Billinger (Ablena), Clara Herman (Charles), Louis Billinger and Elaine Knoll (Donald). She is survived by her siblings Caroline Wittman (Vic), John Billinger (Sara), Mary Ann Rome (Neilus), Barbara Rome (Ronald), Agnes Rome (Paul), Dorothy Fagan (Dennis) and Shirley Kuppetz (John).

Lucine is survived by five grandchildren - Jeffrey Peitersen, Christopher Peitersen, Amy Peitersen Myers (Richard), Matthew Maness and Elizabeth Maness and thirteen great- grandchildren.

Viewing and Rosary service will be held from 6 - 7pm Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Queen of Peace Catholic Parish, 13120 E. Kentucky Ave, Aurora, CO, followed by burial at 2pm at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver. CO.

Memorial contributions are welcomed in lieu of flowers at Denver Dumb Friends League, 2080 S. Quebec, Denver, Co 80231.
