Larry Wayne Abbott, age 70 of Springfield, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home. He was born June 21, 1948 in Union City, Indiana to the late William and Dovie Abbott.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Carl, Betty, Kenny, Della and Charles.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cecelia “Posie” (Yungfleisch); children, Laura (Mark) Holder; Larry (Stacy) Abbott, Jr., Susan (Don) Isenbarger and Scott (Erin) Abbott; grandchildren, Michael, Victoria, Andrew, Tiffany, Donnie, Christina, Madelyn, Scottie, Nathan and Katelyn; brother, James Abbott and numerous other extended family members, his church family and friends.
Larry retired in 2000 from Delco Moraine after 30-years of service. He was a life-long member of the Church of God and pastored the Springfield, OH congregation.
Family will receive guests from 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. Funeral services will begin 10:00 am Friday, January 18, 2019 also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Carl Schaffer. Procession to Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville for burial will conclude services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Church of God at 610 N. Race St., Springfield, OH 45504.
