Joshua Cain Serreno, 24, of Vinton, Virginia, passed away Monday morning from injuries suffered in a car accident on Sunday, May 27, 2007. Joshua was born June 21, 1982 in Charleston W.Va. He graduated from Staunton River High School in Moneta, Va. in 2001, and was an employee of McNeil Roofing in Roanoke, Va. He is survived by one son, Gabriel Cain Serreno of Moneta, Va.; his mother, Jean Ambler Brooks; and stepfather Archie Brooks; father, Milton Dean Serreno of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia; two brothers, Nathan Serreno and Austin Serreno; two sisters, Amanda Serreno and Jessica Brooks and her husband, Michael Dudley; grandmother, Norma McFarland of Alderson W.Va.; special nephew, Ethan Serreno; special friend, Eugene Shaver; Joshua's life partner, Lisa Poff; and a host of wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. All will miss him dearly. The world lost a special young man. Joshua's brother, Justin Conley Brooks, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2007, from injuries sustained in the same accident. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. The pastor Kenneth Dupin to officiate. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery in Meadow Brook, West Virginia.
