Charlie was born in Fort William and resided here until the late 80's when he moved to Dryden to work with Sunset Realty as an Appraiser before returning to Thunder Bay in 2002. He was educated at Fort William Collegiate Institute and moved on to the University of Minnesota. After two years of university, he joined the R.C.A.F. serving overseas, including Africa, during WWII. Following his time in the service, he returned to the University of Minnesota where he graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked for Air Canada before joining the family business LeCocq the Florist. During this time he and his brother Ian hosted the LeCocq the Florist television show. He later worked in real estate here in Thunder Bay before moving to Dryden to continue his career. While living in Dryden he met his soulmate Emily Mae and they were married on September 29, 1993. Charlie's greatest love was his family and he especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren with treats.

He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Emily Mae, daughters Linda (Brian) DePiero and Margo (Bill) Oucher of Dryden, grandchildren: Christa (Tony) Calabrese, Jocelyn (Jeff) Haines, and Suzanne, David and Amy DePiero; great-grandchildren Jacklyn, Kennedy and Robyn, brother Ian (Pat) LeCocq, special nephew Dr. Donald LeCocq and Craig Bradley and family as well as by numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Agnes, brother Rex and sister-in-law Babe LeCocq.
