Served in the U. S. Army Air Forces Signal Corps as a Corporal in the 5th Air Force attached to 13th Air Force Squadron A, 324th Army Air Force Base Unit during World War II. He served as a radar operator in New Guinea and later in the Netherlands' East Indies.
Owned and operated his sawmill business in multiple locations for many years and absolutely loved that type of work.
Lived in Pikeville, Bledsoe County, Tennessee and the Lee's Station Community, Bledsoe County, Tennessee for most of his life.
Served as Alderman for the City of Pikeville.
In his later years he was employed by the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections and was highly respected by his fellow employees, as well as the inmates he supervised.
