John "Jerry" G. Mulvey

Jerry Mulvey died on Wednesday at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old. Mr. Mulvey was born in Philadelphia and had lived in Lansdowne, PA. ,before a resident of Somerset from 1974. He remained in Somerset until 2000 at which point he became a full time resident of Barnegat. He was employed by Pitney Bowes for over 40 years . He served our country faithfully in the United States Navy and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans in Philadelphia . He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Long Beach Island and served the church as an usher. He was also a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Old Bridge.

He was predeceased by his siblings; Helen Quinlan, Ann Mulvey, Patricia Deveney , Jim Mulvey, Joe Mulvey and Dorothy Ferry. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary T. Jordan Mulvey, and their children: Marie Campuzano and her husband Tony of Lansdowne , PA., Kathie Phillips and her husband Al of Milltown, John Mulvey and his wife Kathy of Kendall Park, Cecilia Mulvey of Milford, Patrick Mulvey and his wife Diane of North Brunswick, Joe Mulvey and his wife Christine of Greenbrook, and Michele Mulvey of Dunellen . He is also survived by a sister, Joan Burks of PA.; a brother in law, Fr. Joseph Jordan OSA, of Villanova, PA.; his grandchildren, TC Campuzano, Michael Campuzano and his wife Lauren, Melissa Campuzano and her fiancé Chris, Christopher Campuzano, Thomas Stephens and his wife Kristin, Maureen DeMedio and her husband Frank, Jack Mulvey and his wife Kristi, Ben Mulvey, Leah Mulvey, Brianna Wolfe, Billy Wolfe, Patrick Mulvey, Kiersten Mulvey, Elizabeth Mulvey and Kiefer Mulvey and his great grandchildren; TJ Stephens, Wyatt Campuzano, Meadow Campuzano, Brynlee DeMedio, Colin Mattero along with several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset and on Tuesday from 10 AM -11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Long Beach Island. A funeral mass will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday at church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
