Justin Conley Brooks, 18, of Salem, Virginia, was called home early to be with his heavenly Father, grandparents, and Uncle Ralph because of injuries suffered in a car accident on Sunday, May 27, 2007. Justin was born on May 1, 1989, a bright and charming son, who will always be loved and cherished by his family and friends, was to graduate with his classmates at Salem High School on June 12, 2007. His grandparents, Willie Edna VanDyke and James C. Brooks, and uncle Ralph Alvin Brooks preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Janet Dillon and Billy Brand of Salem; father and step-mother, Archie M. and Jean Ambler Brooks of Vinton; sister and brother-in-law, Jessica Brooks and Michael Dudley and their children, Katelyn, Allysa, and Jenna, of Salem; brother Nathan Serreno and his son, Ethan; and nephew, Cain Serreno, son of Joshua all of Vinton. Justin's brother, Joshua Serreno, passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 from injuries sustained in the same car accident. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, also will miss him dearly. All who had the privilege of meeting and getting to know Justin will remember him. The world has lost someone very special. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey Chapel in Salem. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Sam Belisle will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the John M. Oakey Chapel.
