John J. Petrashek Jr., age 68, of 1303 33rd St., Two Rivers, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005 at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.
John was born on Jan. 15, 1937, son of the late John and Julia (Chadek) Petrashek Sr. He attended Washington High School. On Jan. 3, 1985, he married Gwen Edwards in Macon, Ga. John was employed at the Mirro Aluminum Company for 36 years and retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife: Gwen, Two Rivers; four sons and two daughters-in-law: Ken and Vickie Petrashek, Prentice; Jim and Joy Petrashek, San Diego, Calif.; Scott Petrashek, Urbandale, Iowa; and David Petrashek, South Korea; three daughters and three sons-in-law: JoLee and Pat Walotkiewicz, Two Rivers; Deb and Dave Challe, Menomonie; Tammy and Mike Mindham, Wauwatosa; one step-daughter: Heather Beilke, Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren: Kendra Petrashek; Lindsay (Eric) Cummings; Kyle (Kara) Petrashek; Shane and Stacey Petrashek; Andrea Walotkiewica; Kevin and Ben Challe; Jessie Avery; Adam and Abby Mindham; one great-grandson: Braydon Wilda; one brother: Wayne Petrashek, Two Rivers; two sisters: LaVerne Stern, Yorba Linka, Calif.; Lori Stueck, Two Rivers; one niece: Michelle Stern. John is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005 at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kim Henning. Burial will follow at Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005 at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, Two Rivers.
John was an avid woodworker and enjoyed working outdoors, but most of all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family meant everything to him. He will be dearly missed.
