The Rev. Dallas W. Blackburn, 75, Rt. 1, Delphi, died at 8:48 a.m. Sept. 2, 1995, in Lafayette Home Hospital emergency room.
Born Nov. 22, 1919, in Coffeen, Ill, he was the son of Harry and Della May Blackburn. He was married in Springfield, Ill., to Helen Stubs, who died in 1957. On Oct. 15,1960, in Carroll County, he married Lucille Million and she survives.
Blackburn graduated from Springfield (Ill.) High School and attended Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps. He formerly served the Amo Baptist, Flora First Baptist, and Sharon Baptist churches. He attended the Lockport church.
Rev. Blackburn was director of the Bethel Home for Boys near Muncie from 1960 to 1967. He was current vice president of the Carroll County Farm Bureau.
Also surviving are four daughters, Sharon Davila of Bryan, Texas, Nancy Draughon of Clarksville, Md., Deborah Duvall of Idaville, and Rebecca David of Warsaw; two sons, Ronald D. Blackburn of Fort Wayne and John D. Blackburn of Rt. 1, Delphi; a brother, Wildon Blackburn of Ridgecrest, Calif.; 16 grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, at Lockport Church with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Horn Funeral Home, Delphi, was in charge of arrangements.
