"Shirley Rites Held At Miami"
Miami, Apr. 28 - Funeral services for George W. Shirley, pioneer Arizona resident, who died at his home here Friday evening, will be held from the Miiles chapel tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. W.R. McGaugh officiating. Interment will be made in the Masonic plot in Pinal cemetery. Born at George City, Mo., March 19, 1859, Mr. Shirley came to Arizona in 1880, and was one of the first men to work in the old Silver Queen mine near Superior. He was a carpenter, and had been active in union circles for many years. He is survived by his wife, tow sons, J.O. and E.L. Shirley of Miami; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Todmen of Albuquerque, and six grandchildren.
