SUFFOLK - Ira Kenneth Cassel, 86, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Obici Hospital. Ken retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1986, after 40 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Page Cassel; son, Rives Cassel of New Jersey; daughter, Page Wright and husband, Alan of Ashland, Va.; sister, Donna Langston of Smithfield; granddaughter, Grace Whitlock and husband, Jason; and one great-grandchild, Bryce Whitlock.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
