Fred grew up in Southern California. He was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and worked on different ships as a cook. He was in the Army for a short time and his Army buddy Greg Gleichweit's sister, Celia became his wife. He worked at the Post Office in Fresno and Clovis California for 30 years. His hobbies were fishing, tinkering on his cars and drinking.
He is buried at the Clovis Cemetery District - AUBERRY ROAD Cemetery. On Auberry Road near the Fire Station and just east of Wellbarn Road.
