Gazette and Courier [Greenfield, MA], January 14, 1911:
DEATH of A. L. ALBEE
Alvin L. Albee, another well known resident of Orange, died suddenly of heart disease last Sunday morning in Greenwich, where he had been for the past few months caring for Frank A. Powers, an invalid. Mr. Albee was 64 years old and had lived in Orange since 1887. He was born in Hopkinsville, but before coming to Orange had spent most of his life in Warwick. He was a shoemaker by trade and for some years foreman of the old boot and shoe factory in Warwick. He came to Orange as a shoe cutter when the Jay B. Reynolds factory was opened. Mr. Albee was a Mason, a member of Union Lodge, N. E. O. P., and a charter member of the Athenian Lodge Knights of Pythias. In the latter organization he was keeper of records and seal for many years and a prominent worker for the order. For some years he had been largely employed in caring for the sick. He leaves besides his wife, one son, Harry E. Albee, and one brother, Myron A. Albee, both of Orange, and a sister, Miss Lilla Albee of Warwick. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Pythian hall, with a brief discourse by Rev. J. W. Leonard. The burial was in Warwick.
