Mildred B. Misky, age 93, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, formerly of Two Rivers, passed away Saturday evening, May 25, 2002 at Shady Lane Care Center, Manitowoc.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2002 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. William G. O'Brien will officiate, with burial of her cremated remains in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The former Mildred Kimmes, was born Oct. 9, 1908 at Kenosha, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Harris Kimmes. After moving to Two Rivers, she attended St. Luke Parochial School and Two Rivers Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1926. She then attended the Milwaukee State Teachers College, where she graduated in 1929. Mildred was married to Walter Misky on Jan. 28, 1939 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Los Angeles, Calif. He preceded her in death May 8, 1968. Mildred resided in Alhambra, Calif., for many years, where she worked as an elementary teacher and also as a bookkeeper for the May Company of Los Angeles, Calif. After moving back to Two Rivers, Mildred was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Citizens and the Ladies Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by one sister: Sister Victor Kimmes of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews including: Karen Rotter, Manitowoc; Jack (Carol) Kimmes, Bellingham, Wash.; Tom (Janice) Hallett, Colgate,Wis.; Rita Hallett, Madison; and Susan (Josef) Rohrmeier, Texas; several great-nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Norbert (Mayme) Kimmes and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Jeanette (High) Hallett and Clarann Kimmes.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers, on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
