Donna, originally from Two Rivers, Wisconsin, died peacefully in her home in Packwood, Washington, on January 19, 2019, as she was surrounded by the voices of seven of her eight loving children singing Happy Birthday to her. Born January 20, 1932, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, she is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Nils Leroy Johnson; her parents, Herman and Alice Gagnon; her sister, Marilyn Brefczynski (Eddie); and one of her daughters, Rebecca Lynn Doyle (Tom).

Survivors include seven of her eight children, Jodi Lee (Jackson) Waldrip of Mississippi, Clifford Steven Johnson of Washington, Theresa Louise (Leon) LaChappelle of Wisconsin, Bernadene “Bunny” Lois (George) Ramey of Washington, LouAnne LeRae (Buddy) Maddox of Kansas, Robert Nils Johnson of Alaska, and Lawrence J. Johnson of Alaska. She is also survived by two siblings, Delores (George) Gallas and Herman (Kathy) Gagnon Jr. Donna was blessed with, and loved dearly, 22 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nora, Dawn, Jennifer, Peter, Brian, Angie, Josh, Miranda, Melissa, Donna, Chrissy, George, Joeseph, Sherree, Lisa, Jesse, Faith, Kristian, Jeremy, Christopher, and Samuel; 34 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donna graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, where she enjoyed going to dances and movies with her friends. Donna lived in several places during her adult life, including Wisconsin, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. Along with raising eight children, she also dedicated her life to providing for her family by working several jobs over the years. She loved to read and put puzzles together. Donna was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan, and cheered on her favorite team every week, sporting her blue and green attire.

To say that Donna was loved by ALL, would be an understatement! She was a true saint throughout her lifetime, bestowing joy and sunshine to everyone with whom she came into contact. Donna radiated pure kindness and patience, and never had an ill word to say about anyone. While she was THE sweetest person to ever walk this earth, she was also the strongest, enduring more hardships during her life, than any one person should ever have to endure.

We know that Donna celebrated her 87th birthday in Heaven, with her Lord and Savior, and all of her loved ones who went before her. She is pain free, reminiscing all of the wonderful memories she created and enjoyed here on earth.

A memorial service, celebrating her amazing life, will be held sometime in the future, with a date yet to be determined. It will be held in her hometown of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, where she will be buried next to her mom and dad.
