Bettie Lue was born January 3, 1929, to James O. and Mabel Rebecca (Byfield) Ewbank at their home in Carmen, Oklahoma. She departed this life in Enid on January 25, 2019. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmen.

Bettie Lue graduated from Carmen High School with the Class of 1946. On June 18, 1945, she was united in marriage to Edward Eugene “Tuffy” Stewart in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. They made their home in Carmen and did custom harvesting for 27 years. Also, during those years, Bettie Lue was employed with the Carmen Telephone Company and the First National Bank of Carmen.

Following their custom harvesting career, they farmed in the Carmen area. In addition, Bettie Lue became a Crop Adjuster working throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states. “Tuffy” preceded her in death on March 16, 1996.

On August 12, 2002, Bettie Lue married Joe M. Locke in Hugoton, Kansas. Much of their short time together was spent traveling and visiting family and friends. Joe preceded her in death on August 5, 2008.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Tuffy and Joe; two sisters, and her grandson, Darin Dean Moser.

Bettie Lue is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Becky Nell (Stewart) Moser and husband, Max, of Enid; her granddaughter-in-law, Teresa (Moser) Hofer and husband, Jimmy, of Alva; grandson, Jerrod and Joline Moser of Piedmont; great grandchildren, Dalton and Daresa Moser, both of Alva, Mason, Zachary, and Lauren, all of Piedmont.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2019, at the First Christian Church in Carmen with Reverend Kirk Board and Reverend Mark McAdow officiating. Interment will be in the Carmen Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC.
