Neva E. MIKESELL, 73, 2831 Olson Road, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.
She was born in Fulton County to Lawrence and Elizabeth BATTY FUNK. On Dec. 30, 1944, in Warsaw, she married Harold MIKESELL who survives. She was a graduate of Grass Creek High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Indiana Central College, Indianapolis, and a master's degree from Indiana University. She was a teacher at Fulton, Royal Center, Grass Creek, Burton, Plymouth, Leiters Ford and Culver Community School before retiring after 41 years. She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons, Fulton County and Indiana Retired Teachers Association, past president of the Fulton County Republican Women's Club, and was Fulton County Republican Woman of the Year. She was active in the Royal Center-Cline-Kistler Cemetery Association and the Fulton County Farm Bureau. She was also the June Resident of the Month at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth. She liked to read, visit with friends, and play dominoes and cards.
Surviving with her husband are three brothers, Delmer FUNK, Ridge Manor, Fla.; Andrew FUNK, Frankfort; Glen D. FUNK, Kewanna and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers preceded in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna, with Rev. Denise DAVAULT officiating. Burial will be at the Royal Center Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday until service time. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
