Samuel Carr, 94, dies at Van Wert
Samuel D. Carr, 94, of Rockford, O., a retired farmer, died Monday morning at the Manor rest home at Van Wert, O.
He was born in Mercer county, O., July 7, 1878, a son of David and Ella Fapp-Carr. His wife, Jessie, is deceased.
Surviving are three sons, David Carr of Willshire, O., Kenneth Carr of Fort Wayne, and Robert Carr of Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Omer (Mary) Merriman of Decatur route 3, and Mrs. Carl (Sarah Ellen) Eicher of Clearwater, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) Thursday at the Ketcham-Ripley funeral home in Rockford, with burial in Riverside cemetery at Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday.
