"ABATE, Sam L., 92, of Little Falls passed away peacefully on July 11, 2013. Born in Nutley, Mr. Abate was raised in Lyndhurst, living there for many years before moving to Little Falls over fifty years ago. Prior to retiring, he had been employed with Sel Rex Corp., formerly located in Lyndhurst, for thirty-five years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Mr. Abate was predeceased by his wife, Florence Marie (nee Seeley) as well as by his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Marian Gorman and her husband, Dr. Robert, of North Caldwell; his son, James Abate and his wife, Diane, of Midlothian, VA; and four grandchildren: Michelle and Steven Gorman and Jimmy and Kelly Abate. Funeral services will be Monday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls and 10 AM at Notre Dame R.C. Church, 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visiting Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to Atlantic Home Care, 465 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960 would be appreciated."
