Son of Henry Allen and Laura Ann (Heath) Bargy. In 1890, at the age of 32, he married his wife Ella G. Brown, age 15, 9 Sept. 1890 in Salamanca. She didn't stay with him but in 1892 was living with her sister's family. In 1900 she was living on her own and in 1905, she was living with her husband. That public record was the last she lived with him.

He worked on the railroad and in evenings could often be found in the saloons. He appeared in several controversies. The worst of which sent him to prison.

He was accused and convicted of bigamy. After his wife left, in 1910 he was living in Salamanca with his housekeeper and her young daughter, Laura Fedick. Then on 3 March 1915, he (at age 56) marries the housekeeper's daughter, age 14. They may have lived in supposed harmony except that his first wife had family that lived nearby and word of the second marriage reached his wife.

In the fall of 1915, he was arrested and convicted of bigamy. His explanation of the marriage was that he supposed that wife Ella were dead because it had been more than 7 years since he had heard from his wife. That didn't fly with the judge, and he was sentenced to 2 years at Auburn prison. He appealed and also begged for clemency from the governor, but to no avail.

He returned to Salamanca to live out the rest of his life.

His wife Ella, who continued to live in Pennsylvania, disposed of his property when he died. Laura Fedick married Arthur Erickson in Pennsylvania.

Charles had no children.
