Source: Watts Funeral HomeThurston Wayne Moore 88, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his home in Madill. He was born on December 8, 1930 to the late Dewie Moore and Margaret Word Moore in Hollis, Oklahoma. Thurston was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He graduated in 1949 from Ron High School. Thurston married the love of his life Pansy Strickland on September 8, 1949 in Hollis. They then moved to Lubbock, Texas where Thurston worked at Cobbs Department Store for 2 years. He joined the United States Army and was station in Pine Bluff, Arkansas serving for 2 years. They moved back home to Hollis in 1956 and owned and operated the Daisy Queen for 30 years. In 1990 he and Pansy move to Willis, Oklahoma and worked an Ostrich Farm for 8 years. In 1998 he retired and was enjoying life. Thurston attended the Powell Church of Christ and was a strong believer in Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by:
Children: David Moore and wife Linda, Enid, Oklahoma
Grandchildren: J. T. Moore and wife Stormi, Kingston, Oklahoma
Bailey Jones and husband Brad, Kingston, Oklahoma
Keeven Moore, Denver, Colorado
Jennifer Cole, Wichita, Kansas
Great Grandchildren: Madison and Judge Jones, Kingston, Oklahoma
Slayton, Hunter, and Jayden Moore, Kingston, Oklahoma
Trent Roberts, Kingston, Oklahoma
Cameron Roberts and wife Morgan, Kingston, Oklahoma
Nicholas and Nathan Cole, Wichita, Oklahoma
Great Great Grandchildren: Brinlee, Brantley, Braelynn and Briar Roberts, Kingston, Oklahoma
And a host of family and friends to cherish his memory.
