Everrette Haskell Baker, 86, of Newberry, died Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Born on November 29, 1932 in Columbia he was the son of the late Jacob Leroy and Elizabeth Counts Baker. He was a graduate of Whitmire High School and retired from Monsanto in Greenwood. Mr. Baker was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Golden Agers and the Men's Group.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Mary Linda Long Baker; a son, Wyman Baker of Newberry; a daughter, Kelly (Mike) Nobles of Newberry; grandchildren, Jeremy (Audrey) Baker, Adam Baker, Kaitlyn Nobles and Will Nobles and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Smyrna Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dan Ratchford. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 pm Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Smyrna Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 32 Smyrna Road, Newberry, SC 29108. McSwain Evans Funeral Home assisting the family.
