Dr. Arthur C. Ford, D.D.S. was a prominent Dentist and was born at Cape of Good Hope in South Africa and died prior to 1906, Atlanta, Fulton Co., GA. Apparently he is buried in any "unmarked grave" in Oakland Cemetery.

Dr. Arthur C. Ford fought in the Confederate Army and established himself as a dentist in Atlanta after the war. He was a charter member of the Southern Dental Association and was the fifth president of the Georgia State Dental Association. His office was located at 26 Whitehall Street, Atlanta, Georgia with Dr. Benjamin Ford, D.D.S. of New York.

He served in the Civil War in the Louisville Guards of the 20th GA Reg., C.S.A.. He was wounded at the battle of Sharpsburg, SC., losing the use of his right hand.

Dr. Ford had moved from Augusta to Louisville, Georgia by 1856 at the age of 25 years old with his wife, Emily and then established his Dental practice with Dr. Albert Hape, D.D.S., in Thomson, McDuffie Co., GA. Dr. Albert Hape was the brother of Dr. Samuel Hape of Atlanta and Hapeville (founder of Hapeville, Fulton Co., GA and the Atlanta Dental Supply Company). Dr. Samuel Hape was not a Dentist he was only given the "title Dr." by his piers.

Dr. Arthur C. and Emily Ford were the parents of Ellen Ford (#99215896) and she married, Charles E. Dunning (#99215725).
