Ruth Amanda Bell
Mrs. Ruth Amanda Bell, 94, of Lyndon Station, Wis., formerly of Morganton, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007.
She was born in Burnsville, on Feb. 22, 1913, to the late Rosco and Mary Wilson Geouge.
She was a member of the Church of God in Morganton.
She is survived by her children, Shirley and Sam Burns of Lyndon Station, Wis., Bill and Brenda Higgins of Fresno, Calif. and John Higgins of Morganton; a brother, Lee Geouge and his wife, Pauline, of Burnsville; sisters, Betty Geouge Black of Newport News, Va. and Helen Crisp and her husband, Jessie, of Moyock; an aunt Tassie Bradley of Shreveport, La.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theadore Albert Bell; a daughter, Betty Strickland; sisters, Pearl Geouge, Allie Thomas and Hazel Thomas; and a brother, Paul Geouge.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Kirksey Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Smith presiding.
Interment will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Kirksey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Morganton.
