Born December 5, 1948, in Brisbane, Australia, Rae and her family moved all over the world. They traveled between Australia, St. Louis, San Diego, and South Pasadena until she and her husband of 42 years, Richard Ainsworth, decided to move to beautiful Ventura in 1978.

Rae worked for the Ventura County Assessors office for 27 years. After she retired in 2007, she continued to follow her passion for real estate and became a realtor at General Pacific Properties.

She was the definition of a supportive mother, spending countless hours at both the practices and games of her daughters, supporting them as "team mom" all the way through their collegiate water polo careers. Rae was also a caring and passionate wife who was acting as her husband’s primary caregiver after he underwent double lung transplant surgery last October.

Always very social and outgoing, Rae enjoyed many hobbies such as jewelry making, creating mosaics, gardening, hiking and wine tasting.

Rae is survived by her husband, Richard; two daughters, Laura and Melissa; sisters, Lynn Whitney of San Diego, and Mary Radavich and Abi Justelius of Australia; sister-in-law, Cindy Midkiff of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Bob Midkiff and parents Ray and Sarah Midkiff.

Her early death has deeply affected all who knew her and she will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10:00 A.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating .
