Emmett Owen Meadows

Emmett Owen Meadows, 80, of Beckley, died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27,1993 in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.

Born Nov. 19,1913, at Egeria, he was the stepson of Berdie Meadows of Pluto and the son of the late James Albert and Clara Farley Meadows.

Mr. Meadows was a retired coal miner, a member of the First Church Of God in Beckley, a member of the UMWA District 29, and an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen Adkins Meadows; two daughters, Teresa Ross and her husband Phil of Simpsonville, S.C., and Donna Feijo and her husband Timothy of Mabscott; a brother, Noel Meadows of Annandale, Va.; a sister, Alma Riffe of Crab Orchard; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. today, Nov. 30, 1993, a t the Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vondie L. Cook II and Rev. Harold Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends called Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Griffith, Ronnie Thompson, Mike Lester, Sam Matics, George Smith, Kyle Allen, George Ossorio and Kevin Greene will serve as pallbearers.
