Betty accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior while still young. In 1974 she joined Starlight Church of Christ Holiness (USA) in Compton, California. She was a dedicated member of the church, faithfully serving whether or not she was recognized. She served as an usher, Sunday School teacher and secretary, treasurer, choir member, and in other capacities. She remained a member of Starlight until her passing.
Growing up, Betty exhibited a quiet demeanor. She did not like conflict. But although she was by nature reserved and quiet, she was a real "firecracker" while at home with her family. She was a loving and supporting aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and a protective sister when it came to her siblings.
For over 30 years Betty taught pre-school and, later was hired as a director at an area Day Care. She remained concerned about her "children" even while hospitalized.
Betty passed away on January 31, 2019 after a very brief illness. She was loved by her family and impacted the lives of many in the communities of Compton, Carson, and Lynwood, California.
Rest well, Sis. Betty. #LovedAndMissed
