Mrs. Imogene Elizabeth Jackson Ellis passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at the age of 87.

Mrs. Ellis was a pianist and taught many of the pianist in our community. She loved to garden and grow many beautiful flowers. She was involved with PALS and attended Walnut Grove Church of God.

She is survived by her children: Donna and Daniel Lloyd of Cleveland, Tennessee: Belinda and David Jones of Blountsville, Alabama: and Kelvin and Pam Ellis of Cleveland, Alabama.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Bethany Lloyd, Jillian Lloyd, Casey Lloyd, Bethany and Brandon Speegle, Kimberly Jones, Cody Jones, Blake Ellis, and Luke Ellis.

Mrs. Ellis is preceded in death by her husband: Donald Ellis, parents, Elijah and Addie Ridgeway Jackson, siblings, Gertrude Danehower, Bernice Mims, Theodore Roosevelt(T.R.) Jackson, Alene Huffstutler, Waltene Jackson, and Elijah L. Jackson, Jr.

Brother Andrew Mikkelsen and Brother Curtis Hawkins will conduct the funeral service on Sunday, June 22, 2014 @ 2pm at Grace Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Mrs. Ellis will lie in state at Snead Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:30pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00am until 12 (noon) and then at the church from 1:00 until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be: Casey Lloyd, Blake Ellis, Luke Ellis, Brandon Speegle, Jon Bearden, Cody Jones and T. R. Jackson, Jr.

A little about Imogene,
Imogene was the salutatorian of her class of 1945 Susan Moore High School.
After high school she worked in Gadsden.
Imogene met her husband Don while he was visiting his sister Edna. The attraction turned into marriage. After marriage they moved to New Jersey where Don worked with the Singer Co. After Don's death Imogene moved back to Susan Moore, AL. One of her greatest joys was keeping her grandchildren after school.
Her favorite poem: "Trees"
Her favorite Bible verse: Ephesians 4"29.
