Betty Lou Weikle, 86, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday morning, February 10, 2019, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born March 29, 1932, in Sarton, West Virginia, to the late Carl A. and Vernie (Kershner) Broyles.

Moving to Mansfield in 1949, Betty worked for many years at Montgomery Ward. In her younger years, she crocheted many family heirlooms and made frequent trips back to West Virginia to visit with her family. Betty was a loving, caring, compassionate woman who was extremely generous. She was the consummate giver and fiercely protected her family. She had a beautiful spirit that touched the lives of many. Gatherings with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joys.

Betty attended Heritage Baptist Church in Galion with her daughter and was a member of Mount Alexander Methodist Church in Sarton, West Virginia.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert (Brenda) Weikle of Bellefontaine, OH, and Rick (Vivian) Weikle of Sarton, WV; a daughter, Tina (Rick) Hay of Galion; twelve beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Teresa, Justin, Samantha, Danielle, Heather, Keith, Tina, Michael, Jodee and Kayla; eighteen treasured great-grandchildren; eleven adored great-great grandchildren; a sister, Bertie Weikle; many nieces, nephews and dear relatives; and special nieces, Lilly, Peggy and Missie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clancy R. Weikle; a brother, Kenneth Broyles; and two sisters, Catherine Gessel and Viola “Beck” Payne.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Noblet officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
