Mr. John Case, 88, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:34AM Friday, January 22, 2016 at his home.He was born on August 8, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward Lee and Clara Catharine Firden Case. He married Carlene Blair on January 8, 1949 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on December 12, 2010.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Edwin (and Mindi Treister) Case of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and John David Case of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Lindsey Case and Alexandra Case and two great grandchildren, Cecilia Marie Colini and Dominic Colini. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and a ½ sister.

John worked for the Dresser-Rand Corporation where he managed the European Service Operations in the petrochemical industry from 1949 to 1989.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Soangetaha Country Club, both in Galesburg.

Graveside memorial services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mary Runge officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the OSF St. Mary Foundation.
