Adeline I. Kramer, 100 years of age, died on Friday, February 8, 2019. Visitation and Rosary will be at 9 am on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation and Rosary at 10 am at St. Xavier’s Church. Fr. Kyle Berens and Fr. Peter O'Donnell will concelebrate the service. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Ogden, KS.
Adeline was born on May 13, 1918 at the family home. She attended a Geary County rural grade school for 8 years and then graduated from St. Xavier’s High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1936. Adeline taught in rural schools in Geary and Riley Counties before her marriage in 1943. Willard and Adeline farmed in Geary County until his death in 1974. Adeline touched many lives through her years of teaching, being a 4-H leader and during her 20-year career as a secretary at the Geary County Extension Office before retiring in 1985. During her early retirement years Adeline was active in her parish’s Altar Society, the Geary County Historical Society and the Geary Community Hospital Auxiliary. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard L. Kramer; her parents, William H. and Theresa (Stich) Hannagan; two brothers, David (died in infancy) and Willard D. Hannagan and sister-in-law, Helen Hannagan.
Survived by her children: Anne (Nick) Wieland, Robert (Dormie) Kramer and Richard (Robbie) Kramer; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great- great granddaughter, 5 nephews and 5 nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Adeline’s name to the Fund for the St. Joseph Catholic Church on McDowell Creek in care of the Geary County Historical Society at P.O. Box 1161, Junction City, Kansas 66441 or the Geary County 4-H Foundation in care of the Geary County Extension Office at 119 E. 9th St., Junction City, Kansas 66441.
