Obituary for Judy Ann Thurgood Adams
Our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister Judy passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 24, at McKay Dee Hospital at the age of 62. The daughter of Carl and JoAnn Thurgood; she was born in Moses Lake, Washington, as her father was stationed at the Air Force Base there. Her family moved back to their home in West Point, Utah, shortly thereafter where she grew up. In her early years she enjoyed playing sports and playing with her siblings and cousins whom she adored. She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1974. She married Roger Lilly on March 7, 1976 in West Point; together they had a beautiful daughter RyAnn. They were later divorced, and she married Bradley Adams on August 10, 1979 in Clinton. They had two amazing children together, Burke and Lauren. They were sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1989.
She had a daycare at her home for several years, and she loved all the children as if they were her own. They brought a great amount of joy to her life. She later worked for Iomega in Roy, and for the past 18+ years she has worked for Maverik Convenience Stores as a baker and most recently as a customer service rep. She loved her co-workers and customers. She loved reading, watching movies, was a talented seamstress, and most importantly spending time with her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life. She had the most loving and caring heart, and she loved serving others, as long as her health permitted. She would hug anyone and everyone and you would feel as though you were the most important person in the world. Her pride and joy were her family, and everyone knew how much she loved them. She and Brad loved each other through every high and low that life offers.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father and mother-in-law Douglas and Kay Adams and her father-in-law Mose Watkins, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved.
She is survived by her husband Brad, her children RyAnn (Tony) Henry and their two children Austin and RyLee, Burke (Nykol) Adams and their three children Ayden, Kashlyn and Ace, and Lauren (Andrew) Brown and their four children Kru, Matyx, Journey and Aris. Her parents Carl & JoAnn Thurgood, her mother-in-law Beverly Watkins, her Siblings: Darlla (Brent) Christiansen, Bruce (Heidi) Thurgood, Lana (Scott) Slanec, JoEllen (Cody) Tillack, and Nathan (Sheri) Thurgood. As well as numerous extended family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at McKay Dee Hospital for their efforts and compassion, as well as all those who have reached out in love and support during this difficult time. Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel located at 1625 S 1100 W, Syracuse, Utah at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
