Arthur Ray Paul Davis Sr., age 85, of Adrian died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital.
He was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Wiley Branch, Ala., to Louis and Allie Rose Davis. On May 14, 1954, he married Betty Tiede in Adrian. She preceded him in death. Art had been employed by Brazeway for 34 years. Art was an avid checkers player, who was rarely beat. He loved life and his family; he truly has touched so many hearts.
He is survived by his children, Polly (Ricky) Donelson of Fairfield, Janice (Chuck) Elliott of Fairfield, Arthur (Kim) Davis of Adrian, Kathie (Frank) Martin of Aurora, Colo., and Audrey (Mike) Neill of Luckey, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jesse Davis of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Kathleen Smith of Sevierville, Tenn., and Betty Davis of Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Davis; a daughter, Linda Hampson; two grandsons, Charles Elliott and Garrick Davis; four sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Jewett officiating. Burial will be at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Adrian.
