Larry Lloyd Baston, 71, of El Dorado, AR passed away on February 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born in El Dorado on June 27, 1947 to Lloyd Chesney and Billie Jean Baston.
Larry was a graduate of El Dorado High School Class of 1965. He studied engineering at Arkansas Tech in Russellville before he volunteered for the Army. He served in Vietnam and later worked at the Pentagon. He owned and operated LL Baston Co and Baston Oil Co until his retirement. Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He competed at the World Championships in Competition Pistol Shooting. Some of his hobbies include Racing Cars, Skydiving, Scuba Diving, White Water rafting, Hiking, Traveling, Gunsmithing, Camping, and Riding Motorcycles. He was an engineer at heart and loved to work on things.
He leaves his wife of 44 years Meredith E Baston, his mother Bille Jean Baston (of Hot Springs, AR), sons Luke Baston and Will Baston (of El Dorado, AR), sister Nancy (Gary) Storey (of Hot Springs, AR), grandchildren Anna Baston, Bradley Baston (of El Dorado, AR), Carmen and Sabrina Baston (of Purvis, MS), seven nieces and four nephews.
Larry was predeceased by his father Lloyd C Baston, his brother Ben P Baston, and his nephew Daniel Baston.
Visitation was Saturday from 4-6 pm at the home of Billy Blann. There was a grave side service Sunday at 2pm at Means Cemetery in Hampton AR with Bro. Roy Stringfellow officiating.
Memorials may be made to Life Touch Hospice.
