Donald R. Meyers, age 83, a resident of St. Mary’s Home at Felician village, 1635 South 21st Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Tuesday evening, June 4, 2013 at St. Mary’s Home.

Donald was born April 3, 1930 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late George F. and Evelyn E. Krajnik Meyers. Donald attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1948. He was employed as a supervisor at Mirro Aluminum. On June 24, 1950 he married Alice L. Lang at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Donald was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He enjoyed racing pigeons, gardening and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Alice; one son: Charles Meyers, West Palm Beach, Florida; three daughters: Patricia Rodewald, Manitowoc; Diana (David) Hammel, Newton; Mary Leon, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren: Carrie (Matt) Wallander; Mark Hammel and fiancé Kristin Vetter; Nicole (Adam) Lau: Michelle Rodewald; Ashley Rodewald; Matthew Rodewald and fiancé Chelsi Barta; Antonio Leon, Reynaldo Leon; Ricardo Leon; Amelio Leon; four great grandchildren, aunt: Lucille Wilda, Manitowoc; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Evelyn Meyers; sister: Marilyn Manthy.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Entombment of the cremated remains will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at11:00 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon held or relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
