ALICE L. MEYERS
(1931 - 2014)

Alice L. Meyers, age 82, a resident of St. Mary’s Home at Felician Village, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Mary’s Home following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Alice was born December 10, 1931 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Apolonia Neuberg Lang. she attended Valders High School and graduated with the class of 1949. Alice was employed at Mirro Aluminum as a payroll clerk. On June 24, 1950 she married Donald R. Meyers at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2013. Alice was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and was also a church song leader. She enjoyed needle work, knitting, sewing, music, playing the piano and loved to bake. 

She is survived by one son: Charles Meyers, West Palm Beach, FL.; three daughters: Patricia Rodewald, Manitowoc, WI; Diana (David) Hammel, Newton, WI; Mary Leon, Manitowoc, WI; ten grandchildren: Carrie (Matt) Wallander, Mark (Kristin) Hammel, Nicole (Adam) Lau; Michelle Rodewald; Ashley Rodewald; Matthew Rodewald and his fiancé Chelsei Barta; Antonio Leon; Reynaldo Leon; Ricardo Leon; Amelio Leon; four great grandchildren: Jacob and Elizabeth Wallander; Mason Gallas; Maxwell Rodewald; two brothers: James (Phyllis) Lang, Iowa; Ronald Lang, Manitowoc, WI; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John R. and Apolonia Lang; husband, Donald R. Meyers one brother: Edward Lang.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Entombment of the cremated remains will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.

Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials for a memorial fund being established in Alice’s name.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Gary Schmidt, the staff and especially the CNA’s at St. Mary’s Home for the compassionate care that was given to Alice while she was a resident there. 

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
