William Brooks Barnett, age 13, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 19, 2003. He has gone to an eternal life of joy with his Creator.

Will loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family and friends and especially loved playing with his friends and making other people happy. In his short life, he enjoyed many vacations and going camping and fishing with his family. Holidays were so special for him because he had even more time to hang out with his family and friends.

As a 7th grader at Goddard Junior High, he was recently honored as "Student of the Week." He played in the band and was always a conscientious student, setting an example with his hard work and extra effort.

Will was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raymond Barnett and Barney Hightower and by his uncle, Jeff Hightower.

He is survived by his parents, Robin and Julie Barnett and his 2 brothers; grandmothers, Caroline Barnett and Lucille Hightower of Midland, TX; great-grandfather, Walter Muehlhause of San Antonio, TX; uncle and aunt and 3 cousins; uncle and aunt, and 2 cousins; aunt; and uncle.

Will was and always will serve as a source of faith and inspiration to his parents, brothers, family and classmates. He hated being sick, but never complained. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a source of joy to all and will be forever missed and yet always remembered for the love and happiness to those he touched.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jonathan Deily officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
