Edwin "Nick" Nichols, age 59, of 3952 Sand Bay Point Road, Sturgeon Bay, died Wednesday morning, March 3, 2004, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be Deacon Robert Drobka. Cremation will have taken place.

He was born Nov. 22, 1944, in Manitowoc, son of Marion J. Frieder Nichols and the late Edwin L. Nichols. Edwin was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1962. He served in the 377th division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Edwin was a millwright and a carpenter for various local and nationwide companies. He was a member of the millwright and carpenter union in Manitowoc.

Survivors include two daughters, Kristin N. Nichols, Katie J. Nichols and her fiance, Matt Henrickson; a grandson, Bailey Henrickson; his mother, Marion J. Nichols; a sister, Mary Sue Thielen and her fiance, Wayne Schroeder, all of Manitowoc; a brother, Tom Nichols, Fort Myers, Fla.; and a special grand-puppy, Sassy Boy. Also surviving are nieces, other relatives and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Edwin's name to the American Cancer Society.

Nick enjoyed spending time with his grandson, nature, golf, fishing, cards and traveling. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
