Walene C. Ross, age 56, of 1500 N. Third St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2003 at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers. Charles Rhea and Guy Gustafson will concelebrate at the service, with military rites accorded immediately after by the VFW and American Legion Post of Two Rivers. Cremation has taken place.

Walene was born June 2, 1946 in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clarabelle (Liddle) Rathsack. She was a 1964 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 1996 graduate of Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. Walene served with the U.S. Air Force from Aug. 4, 1964 until June 16, 1965. She was employed for a number of years at the Domestic Violence Center of Manitowoc, as shelter manager. She was a member of The Church of Christ of Manitowoc, and enjoyed quilting, sewing and scrapbooking. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and cherished her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa and Ryan Krall of Two Rivers; Kim and Karlton Hahn, Washington; one son: Mike Ross and fiance, Dawn Stalsberg, Washington; six grandchildren: Ruby, Nelson and Georgia Krall: Marissa Ross; and Tatum and Bailey Hahn. She is further survived by one sister: Katherine Blain, Manitowoc; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Michael (Pat) Rathsack, Kentucky; Richard (Judy) Rathsack, Alabama; and Joseph Rathsack, Madison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Walter Rathsack.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
