Syracuse Herald, Issue Date: October 7, 1916, pg 12
Clarence Thomas, an Onondaga butter and egg dealer, died suddenly on his wagon in the 1900 block of South Salina Street shortly after noon today. He was about 50 years old. Thomas was seen to collapse as his horse was walking slowly near the curb. A passerby stopped the horse and called Dr. W. L. Potter, whose office is nearby. Dr. Potter, finding death had been instantaneous, notified Coroner Crane and at the coroner's direction, the body was removed to the county morgue by Superintendent Lozott for an autopsy. Thomas was well known about Onondaga Hill. His aged father, with whom he lived, survives.
