Billy was born a son of the late Robert W. Roberts and Inez Sidbury Roberts. His grandson, Michael preceded him in death December 2004. He was the owner of Roberts and Roberts Heavy Equipment Company of Hampstead and a lifelong resident of the Hampstead Community. He was responsible for getting telephone service to the Hampstead area and donated land for and help to start the Sloop Point Fire Department. Mr. Roberts had a special zest for life and especially enjoyed dancing. He will be fondly remembered in the hearts of his family and by the many friends whose lives he touched along his way. Billy died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
