On Wednesday night at 11 o’clock, Mr. W. P. Alley died at his home on Main street. He was 54 years old and had been in bad health for several years. Mr. Alley for a number of years was engaged in the grocery business and was a good citizen. He was married twice, first to a Miss Woodlief and second to Miss Hixie Harris. He leaves a wife and eight children, six by his first wife and two by his last. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His remains were entered in the cemetery at Pope’s Chapel on Thursday evening, Rev. N.E. Coletraine conducting the services.
