Coleen was born May 25, 1951 in Canton; daughter to the late Robert and Lola (Dafoe) Wood. She attended Canton High School. On September 8, 1973, Coleen married Charles “Bill” Dennis. Coleen worked for and retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles in Canton. She took pride in her baking and crafts. She enjoyed being active in the lives of her brother, sisters, cousins and friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Coleen is survived by her son, Charles A. “Billy” Dennis and wife Jodi of Manhattan; two daughters, Renee Butterfield and husband Jeffrey of Canton and Erin Dennis and companion Jake Lucas of Winthrop; seven grandchildren, Anabel and Maxson Dennis, Easton and Bryce Butterfield, Ezra, Ciara and Emma Lucas. Also surviving are three sisters, Donna Collins and husband Richard of Canton; Venetia Wood and Brian Miller of Canton and Vanessa Dalton and husband Michael of Canton; a brother, Robert G. Wood Jr. and wife Darlene of Winthrop and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles A. “Bill” Dennis and a brother, Gary Wood.
Calling hours for Coleen will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the O’Leary Funeral Home, Canton. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Skip Eddy, officiating. Burial in the Crary Mills Cemetery will be held in the spring.
