Obituary for Lahoma "Sue" Bond
Lahoma V. (Sue) Bond, 93, passed in peace while sleeping at her home in Hesperia on Feb. 19,2019. Sue was born in Picket Prairie, OK, to her parents Christle and Homer. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Edward Eugne (Gene) Bond whom she met during WWII. Sue is also predeceased by her daughter Sherry Nagle and her grandson Jarrod Nagle and most all of her brothers and sisters.
Most of her youth was spent in Oklahoma where she had many adventures, but after meeting Gene life became more adventurous as she traveled with him through many states while he worked in the oilfield industry. They finally settled in California in the early 60's with their 4 children. Sue and Gene then moved to Hesperia in 1985 for their retirement and Sue remained in Hesperia even after Gene's early death in 1986.
In the late 90's, after many years alone, Sue was introduced to a special man named Lewis Neely. They became very close friends and shared many good times together until his death in 2004.
Although most vacations were to visit family and friends, Sue did get to visit her ancestral homeland of Ireland when she was 86 years old. She was also very proud of her Native American heritage.
Sue is survived by 3 children; her son Eddie Bond and his wife Kathi, her daughter Dorothy Bond, and her son Bucky Bond and his wife KC. She is also survived by her half-sisiter Lee Berniece Strickland and her husband Tom. Surviving Sue also are 7 grandchildren: Chance, Danielle, Kendal, JB, Brandon, Travis and Trevor. And they blessed her with 17 great-grandchildren; Devyn, Dylan, Peyton, Karsyn, Bradee, Ashlyn, Kenzi, Aidn, Addison, Bryan, Cruz, Wyatt, Thea, Colt, Emma, Dallas, and Dusti.
There will be a viewing on March 14th, at the Victor Valley Mortuary, 15609 11th Street, Victorville, CA from 2 to 6pm.
On March 15th, at 11am, there will be services at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside CA, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Gene Bond.
