ROME- Patricia S. Delaney, 60, of Rome died February 15, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, shortly after her admission.Born in Trinidad, West Indies, on April 23, 1958, she was the daughter of Donald and Carol Chase Delaney. A lifelong resident of the area, Patty graduated from Chittenango High School, Class of 1976. She was employed with Reliable Telephone Answering Service and Vineall Ambulance Service for over thirty-five years as an Operator/ Dispatcher,and was also employed by Dr.Joseph Robottom as a dental assistant for many years. Patricia was of the Christian Faith and a member of the Rome Christian Center.Patty spent much of her time, in the recent years, advocating for and taking care of her mother. She enjoyed traveling with her companion Dennis to places such as Arizona,Canada,and Massachusetts. She was previously a member of the Oneida Area Civic Choral.... and also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Oneida Castle Fire Department She also enjoyed playing the viola for many years.. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Patty would describe her as a woman of God with a heart of gold. Her dad, Donald Delaney predeceased her.Surviving besides her mother Carol are, two brothers, James Delaney of Auburn and David Delaney of East Syracuse; her companion of over thirty years W. Dennis Viets ; one aunt and her husband, Linda and Pete Hesse of Norwich; one uncle and his wife, Steve and Ellen Delaney of Skaneateles; five nieces and nephews, Jennifer Delaney, James Delaney, Sandra Delaney, Brennan Delaney and Christopher King; and several cousins.Calling hours will be on Saturday Feb 23rd from 1 PM to 3 PM .Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida with Pastor Ned Paquette, officiating.Spring interment will take place in Valley View Cemetery.To leave a message of condolence, visit www.campbell-dean.com.
