Sara Lynn was born in a litter of 6 babies to Angel.

Angel was a kitty that came to mommie and daddy's home not long before daddy died.

Mommie had always wanted a cat to keep in the house but daddy had never been too crazy about having a cat in the house, bad experiences from when he was a kid, so mommie had never had one that she could keep inside. When Angel 'showed up' mommie took her in to show her to daddy and he told her she should keep her in the house and take care of her, that she was a gorgeous cat.

Not long after daddy died mommie realized that Angel was pregnant, mommie was thrilled.

One night in early March of 2006 mommie was awakened by Angel on her bed, she was making odd noises. Mommie turned the light on and found Angel was ready to deliver her little family. Mommie got towels ready and sat for the next few hours beside Angel while she had one after the other of her babies. As they were delivered mommie cleaned them off and placed them at a nipple so they could have their first meal. She kissed each little head. One of the babies was a calico, Sara's sister, whom mommie kept and named Callie, she was the only calico of the litter. Sara had a bit of orange on her head, not much.

When Sara was old enough to leave her momma she and a brother came to live with my sister, Tamara and my nephew, Byron. They were christened Sara Lynn and Satan James.

They were part Maine Coon Cat so they are large babies with long, luxurious hair, beautiful expressive faces and loads of attitude.

Sara at times had a very grumpy look on her face but she was a total love bug, IF she was in the mood, otherwise, true to calico nature, just leave her alone!

She is cradled in the earth wrapped in one of her momma's blankies along with some of mommie's clothes and a pink rose from mommie's casket spray.

She rests only a few feet from the bed where she slept each night with her momma. Her grave is beside the grave of Buddy, an older doggie brother that died years ago.

She is survived by her momma, Tamara, Byron, her siblings, Satan, Dot, Kit, Brutus, Breezy, Bobo and an aunt.
We all miss our Sara Lynn very much. We'll see you at the Bridge sweet baby girl.

I am here

I stood by your bed last night,
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were... crying,
You found it hard to sleep.

I purred to you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times,
your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today,
Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels,
I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today,
You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you,
that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house,
as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you,
I smiled and said " it's me."

You looked so very tired,
and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know,
that I was standing there.

It's possible for me,
to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty,
"I never went away."

You sat there very quietly,
then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening,
I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile
and watch you yawning
and say "good-night, God bless,
I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you
and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...
then come home to be with me.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water, sunshine and toys and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
Those who were abused or mal-treated have had their tears wiped away, and sit for as long as they want on the Golden Flowing Robes of God's Lap. They feel the touch of Pure Love on their heads and finally know happiness.
All the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing ~ they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent and the eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, they breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.
