Albert Stowell Flint was the fourth of seven children born to Simeon Flint (1817-1876) and his wife Ellen Rebecca Pollard Flint (b. 1822) of Salem, Mass.

U.W. Astronomer Succumbs After Long Illness 34 Years Here

Prof. Albert Stowell Flint, 70, died this morning at his home, 122 Clark street, after a long illness. He is survived by his widow and three children: Mrs. L.R. Ingersoll, Alfred T., and Rebecca P. Flint, all of this city.

Prof. Flint was born in Salem, Mass., attended Harvard, Princeton and Cincinnati university observatories, and since 1889 has lived in Madison as a member of the staff at the Washburn observatory from which he was retired as Astronomer emeritus several years ago.

He was an active member of the Unitarian church, and honorary president of the local Harvard club. Funeral services will be held from the home, 122 Clark street, University Heights, probably Saturday and interment will be made later at Salem, Mass.
