Gary 77, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Joseph Eldred and Sarah Alice Fuller Goodrich, his parents Paul Edward Ritchie and Alice Ruth Goodrich Ritchie Chapman and his son Gregory Lee. He is survived by his wife Naomi Faye Sexton Goodrich, daughter Deanna Michele Goodrich Watkins of Houston, Texas, sister Dottie Goodrich Meadows (Clint ) of Lexington, KY, brother James David Chapman (Lynn) of Lake Lure, NC, sister Carolyn S. Chapman Bloom (Gary) of Houston, TX, uncle Johnny P. Goodrich (Lois) of Parkersburg, WV, several nieces and nephews and his dog Lucky.
Gary was born to Paul Edward and Alice Ruth Goodrich Ritchie. He was adopted by his maternal grandparents Joseph E. and Sarah A. Fuller Goodrich.
He married Naomi Faye Sexton on October 17, 1959 by Rev. Carvel Grant in Barboursville, Cabell County, WV.
Born to this union: Deanna Michele and Gregory Lee.
Gary retired from Local 80 Insulators.
Gary was a family man who enjoyed spoiling his family with new cars and vacations. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, was an avid hunter and loved gardening and fresh vegetables. After his retirement, he did all the cooking, laundry, housework and shopping. He was never idle and always liked to be working around the house or in his garage. Gary also enjoyed listening to music, especially the CD's brother Jim made for him. He loved traveling by train and airplane. Gary worked hard and played hard. His motto was "let the good times roll."
