John E. Schmittler, 81, formerly of Grayville, Illinois, died Friday, February 22, 2019, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was born November 17, 1937, in Xenia, Illinois, the son of J.C. and Carolyn (Crome) Schmittler.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his brother Fred Schmittler of Malden, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Elouise Caruthers and Marietta Schmittler; grandparents Frank and Mary Schmittler, and Lyman Crome.
