Billy “Carl” Adams, 89, of Chase, passed away February 25, 2019 at McPherson Health and Rehabilitation, McPherson, Kansas. He was born July 13, 1929 in Shidler, Oklahoma, the son of Walter Monroe and Willie Ann Gooch Adams. He graduated from Chase High School with the class of 1949. Carl has resided in Chase since 1945, formerly of Webb City, Oklahoma. He was a retired oil field pumper. Carl served in the Korean War. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and Royal Lodge #192 AF&AM Masonic Lodge of Lyons. On March 8, 1958, Carl was united in marriage with Ruth M.L. Roelfs in Sharon Springs, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2009. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lewis Adams, Walter O. Adams, and Bert Adams; sisters, Lola Wright, and Clovis Quijada; nephews, Wayne Wright, Richard Wright, Norman Adams, Joe Adams, and Walter L. Adams; great nieces, Stacy Knapp, and Jennifer Knudsen; and great nephew, Chaun Jorgenson. He is survived by his son, Brent Adams of Chase. Graveside service with Masonic Rites will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Tom Reazin officiating and military honors by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Billy “Carl” Adams Memorial Fund, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
